The Medusa Ring —
In canto ix of the Inferno, Dante is confronted by Medusa. Traditionally, one look from Medusa would turn one into stone. This is the point at which Virgil, Dante's guide, places his hand over Dante's eyes. This is the only moment of physical contact in the "Divine Comedy". The Medusa ring symbolises a moment of tremendous fear, but also great protection. It's a close call, you could say.
The Medusa Ring is cast in bronze, and 24k gold-plated.
